Benefits of Cinnamon
Of all of the superfoods in the world, few have more benefits than cinnamon. The cinnamon sticks that we all associate with cinnamon come from the dried inner tree bark of the Cinnamomum tree. It can be ground into a powder and found in grocery stores everywhere. It should be noted that high quality cinnamon is more potent and has more health benefits than low quality cinnamon. Look for Ceylon or “true” cinnamon.
The health benefits of cinnamon may include:
Anti-oxidant properties: cinnamon contains polyphenols that protect against free radicals.
Anti-inflammation properties: cinnamon fights infections and repair tissues.
Heart health: cinnamon may reduce LDL, aka bad cholesterol, and triglycerides and also reduce blood pressure.
Insulin sensitivity reduction: cinnamon may help reverse insulin sensitivity and aid in healthy blood sugar levels.
Fighting Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease
Fighting cancer cell growth, the HIV virus, bacterial and fungal infections.
