Health Warrior Superfoods was founded on the belief that better health will build a stronger society. Healthy habits are formed early but many children miss out on these lessons that can have a lifelong impact. We’ve partnered with the Whole Kids Foundation since 2014 to bring healthy foods to more students and more schools.
The Whole Kids Foundation (WKF) was founded by Whole Foods Market in 2011 to empower schools and inspire families to help children reach optimal health through the strength of a healthy body fueled by nutritious foods. How do they do that? WKF provides funding for salad bars in schools, school gardening programs and teacher education.
“We are honored to say that 100% of every dollar we raise is directly invested in our school based garden grants, salad bar and healthy teacher programs, giving more kids the knowledge to make healthier food choices for a lifetime,” said a spokesperson for Whole Kids Foundation.
How can you help? Through June 12, 10 cents of every Health Warrior Bar purchased from Whole Foods Market will be donated to the Whole Kids Foundation. Health Warrior CEO Shane Emmett remarked, “There is nothing more important to our country’s future than cultivating a healthy and happy next generation. The three legs of the health and happiness stool are eating well, having great relationships, and moving every day. Kids that have salad bars in their schools eat 5 times more fruits and veggies, but most public schools cannot afford them. Whole Kids Foundation solves that problem and we could not be more fired up to support them.”
Health Warrior and Whole Kids Foundation are teaming up make more lifesaving changes in the lives of students. This year’s Back to School Campaign is aiming to award 500 new garden grants, 200 new salad bars and continue to fund the Healthy Teachers and Honey Bee programs.
